DISTANCE EDUCATION

Universities in India have started giving special attention to distance education in India. Reason being that there is a large section which do not go to regular mode of education. This factor was growing in the 90s and now we see a great dynamism in the advent of distance education in the country. People have great enthusiasm in the working culture of India when they are heading towards in various streams of distance education.

Open universities across the states of India cater to the needs of students on pan-India basis. Here it is important to discuss the two modes of correspondence education which has been unknown to many. There are two kind of correspondence education

1. One is the regular system which is akin to the qualification prerequisites in normal university curses.

2. Second if the open mode of education where one could opt for any course & qualifications do not need any formal requirements. But there are some institutes where it is required to be 18 years by age for diploma as well as UG courses. For post-graduate courses the same league asks for 21 years of age. We also see written exam criteria in some courses.
